Olympic Value Wristbands

Values Wristbands

Whether you are one of our 2,500 participants, a member of teaching staff, a parent, grandparent, friend, younger or older sibling, or even a local business, the Berkhamsted Games 2012 wristbands are the one symbol that you can wear to show your support!

The silicone wristbands come in seven different colours; each debossed with ‘BERKHAMSTED GAMES 2012’ and then a different one of the seven Olympic and Paralympic values for each colour.

Teaching of the 7 Olympic and Paralympic values (Respect, Friendship, Determination, Courage, Excellence, Inspiration and Equality) is a critical part of London 2012’s unique education programme, ‘Get Set’.  All 10 Berkhamsted schools taking part in the Berkhamsted Games 2012 have successfully applied and become members of the Get Set Programme.  Find out more about Get Set and the 7 values by clicking here.

The event organising committee is hoping that every child taking part in the games (from Reception to Yr9) will want to buy at least one of the wristbands and that as many as possible will buy all 7.

Each wristband costs £1 or you can buy the full set of 7 for just £5.  A full set is one of each of the 7 wristbands, all of which are either child size or adult size.

Wearing the wristbands

All orders, and extra sets of the wristbands will be available (sent home via a child’s class in one of the 10 participating schools or from Berkhamsted Sports) from Monday 11 June.

Most Head Teachers have already confirmed that the children will be allowed to wear the special mini-Olympics wristbands at school for that final half-term and on the big day itself.  We also hope that everyone supporting the Berkhamsted Games 2012 on 5th July will be wearing their wristbands too!
